Account Executive
About the Role
Procurement is a $4.2 trillion market where strategic decisions worth millions are still made manually - fragmented data, weeks of preparation, and negotiations run on instinct rather than intelligence. Monq changes that. We've built an AI negotiation engine that sits inside enterprise procurement workflows, giving teams the strategic clarity to negotiate faster and win better terms.
We're now hiring an Account Executive to take this to market. You'll work directly with the founding team on every deal - no account management layers, no inherited playbook. This is the role that defines how Monq sells.
Ready to build the commercial foundation of a category-defining company? Let's get in touch.
What You'll Be Doing
Full-Cycle Enterprise Sales:
Own every stage of the sales cycle — from first outreach through to signed contract
Build and manage your own pipeline from day one; you are accountable for sourcing as well as closing
Sell into senior procurement and finance stakeholders at large enterprises — CPOs, CFOs, Heads of Strategic Sourcing, and VP Procurement
Enterprise Deal Execution:
Run deep discovery to uncover the specific procurement pain, shape the right use case, and build the business case that gets it approved
Run structured proof-of-concepts alongside the engineering team — set clear success criteria at the start, hold to them, and convert pilots into paid contracts
Manage complex buying cycles involving multiple stakeholders, procurement governance, and legal review without losing momentum
GTM Development:
Work directly with the founders and product team — what you learn from prospects and customers feeds back into the roadmap in real time
Define the commercial process from the ground up; there is no inherited playbook here and what you establish becomes the foundation for the team we build behind you
Apply AI tooling in your day-to-day work to increase the volume and quality of what you can cover each week
What You'll Need
Essential Experience:
3+ years in enterprise B2B sales with a strong and verifiable performance record
Demonstrated experience selling into procurement, supply chain, finance, or operational functions within large organisations
Closed six-figure deals involving extended cycles, multiple decision-makers, and formal procurement or legal processes
Evidence of pipeline you built independently — accounts you identified, researched, and took from cold to close yourself
Professional Skills:
Comfortable operating in an environment where the process is still being defined — you build structure rather than relying on it
Sharp commercial judgement — you can read a deal, identify where it's stalling, and adjust your approach accordingly
Clear and direct communicator with both technical teams and executive buyers
Enough genuine interest in AI and procurement to hold a substantive conversation with sophisticated buyers about the problem Monq solves
Nice to Have
Experience in procurement technology, supply chain software, or enterprise SaaS
Familiarity with strategic sourcing, contract lifecycle management, or vendor management workflows
Background selling into energy, retail, manufacturing, or financial services — Monq's core verticals
Previous experience in an early-stage company where you contributed to building the GTM function
Compensation and Benefits
At Monq, we recognise that the commercial team defines the trajectory of a category-defining company. We offer:
Competitive Package:
Significant equity stake — play a real part in Monq's potential to capture a $4.2T market
Bi-annual performance bonuses tied to successful deal closures and customer outcomes
Work Environment:
Hybrid, London-based with 4 days in-person
Direct collaboration with the founding team and Fortune 500 procurement teams
Annual team retreat — fully-funded off-site focused on growth and team building
Career Growth:
Visa sponsorship available for exceptional candidates who complete our recruitment process
Opportunity to define the commercial motion for AI-powered enterprise negotiations
Direct mentorship from founders with backgrounds at Revolut and HSBC
Others:
No HR organisation
Minimum 30 days of annual leave and a day off in the month of your birthday
Flexible working hours as long as we get the things done
Temporary work from abroad up to 120 days a year (certain limitations apply depending on your nationality/work authorisation status and tax obligations)
Our Interview Process
We run a focused interview process designed for senior enterprise sales talent:
Screening Call (30 minutes):
Discussion of your enterprise sales background, track record, and pipeline generation approach
Overview of Monq's commercial opportunity, target customer profile, and current GTM stage
Alignment on compensation expectations, location, and role scope
Sales Challenge — Take-home and Presentation (45 minute debrief):
Take-home task: given a target account profile and Monq's product overview, produce a prospecting strategy, discovery approach, and outline deal plan
Present your thinking to the founding team — walk through how you would take this account from cold to close
Discussion of your commercial judgement, qualification criteria, and approach to managing a complex buying cycle
Problem Solving Interview (45 minutes):
A live scenario based on a real commercial situation Monq has faced — a stalled deal, a pricing objection, or a competitor displacement
Assessment of how you read the situation, adapt your approach, and move the deal forward
Deep dive into a six-figure deal you closed from a cold start — the full story from first contact to signature
Bar Raiser Interview and On-site Collaboration (half a day):
Conversation with one of Monq's co-founders on the most complex enterprise sales cycle you have owned
Live pipeline review or deal strategy session with the GTM team on a current Monq opportunity
Meeting with a procurement domain expert or customer stakeholder
Assessment of how you operate at the intersection of commercial rigour, product knowledge, and enterprise relationship management

Important notice for candidates
Job scams are on the rise, and fraudsters sometimes impersonate companies like Monq to target applicants. Please keep these guidelines in mind when applying for any of our open roles:
Apply only through official Monq channels. We post roles solely on our own careers page and verified partner job boards such as LinkedIn. We don't use third-party agents or platforms to manage our recruitment, and we'll never contact you about a role you didn't apply for.
Verify every email. All genuine communication from our team comes from an official @monq.io address. Check the sender's full address carefully—lookalike domains (extra letters, swapped characters, or free email providers like Gmail or Outlook) are a red flag.
We will never ask for money or financial details. Monq does not request payment, equipment fees, or personal financial information (bank details, card numbers, deposits) at any stage of the hiring process. Any such request is a scam.
When in doubt, confirm. If something feels off, pause and verify directly with us before responding or sharing any information.
If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from Monq, please don't reply or click any links. Report it to us at security@monq.io and, where relevant, to your local authorities
